Bezel is excellent - very little wear front or back. Back is excellent - minimal wear for its age. No personalized engraving. Excellent original dial. Excellent original signed, recessed crown. Bulova autoamatic movement winds and sets perfectly, keeps acceptable time. I've never seen this particular model of 333 feet diver watch before. But I'm guessing by the circular mark around the bezel that it had a bezel ring on it at some point. Maybe turnable, maybe not, who knows? Dated N1 on the case for 1971. High quality chronometer movement in this Bucherer automatic with day/date. Bucherer is a well established jewelry chain in Europe. Their house brand of watches uses quality movements. Excellent original crown. 17J signed Bulova automatic movement with date sets and winds perfectly and keeps acceptable time. The Oceanographer was Bulova's early attempt at a dive watch, and you can tell they tried to straddle the grade between dress and sport watch. There was no turnable bezel on this model, even when Bulova went to the more "serious" diver watch rated at 666 feet (this one was originally rated to 333 feet). I have seen this model offered with both a 10kt yellow gold fluted bezel ring and a stainless bezel ring. This one is the latter, and also features a date window. Handsome triple date from the 1950s with red arrow pointer hand for the date. Britix was a fairly big "player" back in those days, advertising fairly regularly in the trade magazines as a solid brand for the independent jewelry trade.
